2011 Bentley Supersports Ice Speed Record

With only 100 units being produced, Bentley is celebrating the world ice speed record attempt by Juha Kankkunen, rally chamption. In celebration, Bently is releasing their Continental Supersports Ice Speed Record special edition (what a mouthful), and it will debut on February 29th, 2011 in Geneva and then put on sale.

The big Bentley is powered by a get-out-of-my-way 6 liter twin turbo W12 engine that makes 631 horsepower and 590ft lbs of torque on all stock settings. This power propells this beast from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and 0 to 100 in only 9.4 seconds.

What gets my attention is that this car is a twin turbo stock. With a fully forged hand built engine, a good tuner can make at least 200 horsepower more with fuel modifications and increased boost. With a modified version of this car, the 0-60 and quarter mile numbers would be world class, and rival such cars as the Corvette ZR1 and Porsche 911 Twin Turbo.

What is even more impressive is that this Bentley is a convertible, which requires more structural support, increasing the weight of the vehicle.

I'll take two.
